2014

I turned my design thesis into Emerge MX, a platform for young Mexican designers. Over time, it grew into a space for design dialogue through events, workshops, and Mexico’s first design magazine exploring the intersection of design with politics, education, science, and the economy. Contributors included voices from Harvard, MIT and Pratt.

2016

I started teaching Design at Tecnológico de Monterrey, leading courses on design history, experience design, and strategy. I advised on projects like planning content for a new design graduate program.

2019

I was invited by the Government of Jalisco to lead Mexico’s first public office focused on design policy. Over nearly five years, I launched public funding programs, exhibitions, and Plataforma Activa de Diseño—the country’s first publicly funded space supporting socially driven design through residencies and collaborative projects. I also managed international funds from the British Council and was selected for its Creative Leadership Programme.

2023

In 2023, I moved to London to pursue an MPA in Innovation, Public Policy and Public Value at UCL’s IIPP, supported by the IIPP Policy Studio Scholarship funded by the Laudes Foundation.

During this time, I also worked as a legislative advisor in the Mexican Senate, contributing to proposals on digital violence—particularly involving AI—and a proposal for a Digital Rights Law, while producing research to support ongoing legislative work.

2024-25

A pivotal year in my transition to global research and policy work. At UCL’s IIPP, I was part of the team developing the DPI Map, researching global adoption and governance of Digital Public Infrastructure, and support teaching on digital government. I then started collaborating with UNDP, where I coauthored Nature ID, a report on digital ecosystems for land and environment. Currently, as a Research Fellow at the Digital Impact Alliance, I’m exploring how design systems can improve public service delivery in diverse contexts.
